Dr. Giselle Vivaldi, Medical Director

Dr. Giselle Vivaldi has served as the medical director at West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital since 2021 where she oversees the medical team and provides patient care and treatment. Before that, she served as a physiatrist at West Gables for since 2015, during which time she developed the hospital’s brain injury program.  The program includes a secure unit for brain injury patients as well a staff specially trained in working with those patients. In addition to her work with West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Vivaldi is an associate program director for the Larkin Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency.

Dr. Vivaldi earned her medical doctorate at the University of Puerto Rico – Ciencias Medicas. A physiatrist – a doctor trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation – she completed her residency and served as chief resident at New York University’s Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation. Dr. Vivaldi completed fellowship training in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation at Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation in New Jersey.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras.
