Program Rules & Regulations

  • Inpatient Program Rules & Regulations

    • Patients are to comply with their rehabilitation schedule.
    • Patients and visitors are asked to act in a manner that is courteous and respectful to other patients, visitors and employees.
    • Visiting Hours are from: 8am - 8pm.
    • All visitors must check in and register at the main entrance with security.
    • Animals/pets are not allowed on the hospital premises unless they are deemed to be therapy or service animals/pets.
    • Smoking is only permitted in the Smoking Zone which is located outside of the Breezeway next to the Outpatient wing of the hospital and close to the parking lot.  Patients and visitors are encouraged to contact security with any violations of this rule.
    • All special accommodations (e.g. overnight stays, accessibility requests, etc) should be made to the patient’s nurse which will then communicate with the appropriate hospital department.
    • Patients should advise their nurse when leaving the assigned nursing unit (e.g. break time in the breezeway, use of activity room, etc)
    • Patients are not allowed in parking lot of the hospital without the direct supervision of an employee and will be assisted to their mode of transportation at the time of discharge by a member of our staff.
    • Patients/visitors should limit their use of the computer in the 1st floor activity room to 15 minutes if others are waiting to use the computer.
    • Patients who choose to bring their Personal/Home Medications must inform their nurse immediately.  These medications will need to be dispensed by our Pharmacy Department for your safety.
    • Patients must understand that it might become necessary to be transferred to another bed or another floor within the hospital.
    • Patients must understand that the requests for private rooms are on a first come first serve basis.
    • Patients are encouraged to ask questions about their plan of care as it pertains to their rehabilitation needs.
    • Patients must understand that depending on their insurance coverage, they may be responsible for a portion of their bill for services provided.


    Outpatient Rules and Regulations

    • Patients and visitors are asked to act in a manner that is courteous and respectful to other patients, visitors and employees.
    • Outpatient treatment hours are from 7am – 4pm, Monday through Friday.  The gym is closed between 12-1pm to accommodate the staff’s lunch break.  Patients/visitors are only allowed into the gym to utilize the restroom.
    • All patients must check in and register at the main entrance with the Outpatient front desk staff.  Patients are to comply with their rehabilitation schedule.  In the case that an appointment needs to be rescheduled, we ask that you communicate this need to our front desk in advance of the appointment and as soon as you are made aware of any scheduling conflict.  In the case that a patient misses three consecutive treatment sessions without contacting the OP program, the treating clinician does have the right to discharge the patient from the program due to a lack of participation.
    • Therapy recommendations / plan of cares are based on individual functional needs as established by the evaluating therapist.  Continuation or discontinuation of services within the program is based on such needs and appropriate communication of these recommendations will be consistently facilitated to the patient and referring physician by the treating therapist.
    • In the case that a patient is to receive a non-voluntary discharge, the patient will receive the appropriate communication from his/her treating therapist and the appropriate communication will be facilitated with the referring physician.  Discharge recommendations are provided accordingly.
    • Patient families/visitors are not allowed in the gym unless it is for a scheduled therapy education session which has been coordinated by the treating therapists.
    • Patients/families/visitors are not allowed to take pictures or record video/audio unless a release is received from the treating therapist and the patient.  When allowed, only the patient, family member and treating therapist can come out in the picture/video/audio.
    • Patients who require assistance for such activities as completing documentation, utilizing the restroom or cognitive tasks should be accompanied by a caregiver to the therapy session.
